Ironwood with Anneke Scott, natural horn
“Sweet beauty to be stolen” Don Giovanni – Mozart
Ironwood teams up with Anneke Scott, historic horn (UK) to launch their new ABC Classics recording – some rediscovered world premieres of Mozart – stolen by him and by others. Playing detective in the British Library, Anneke discovered some great arrangements of some Mozart gems, by Covent Garden entrepreneur Barham Livius, as well as mysterious & cheeky horn players known by Mozart – Giovanni Punto, and Giovanni Puzzi. Informed by 19th c performance practices, Ironwood brings a new sound to Mozart, the opera, and the historic horns of the early nineteenth centuries in this superb virtuoso concert for horn, strings & fortepiano.
- Mozart arr. Barham Livius Kegellstatt Trio arr for horn, viola, cello & fortepiano
- Puzzi-Finke Grand Variations on a Mozart Aria for horn, strings & fortepiano
- Mozart arr M.Haydn Romance for horn & strings
Welcoming you to this concert from classikON:
|Jacqui is a lover of many musical things, but particularly loves music from about 1200 to the late 1700s and music written yesterday. She plays recorder, sings and edits academic words by day, but is often seen about town performing or listening to live music.|
