What do we do?
classikON shares with you the huge amount of classical and new music being performed in unique spaces by independent musicians in Australia.
How did classikON start?
classikON was born as a concept at VIVO cafe in December 2011 but for the co-founders, Kate & Cecilia, the rumblings had stirred within them long before that. Cecilia left classikON in November 2012.
We bring you…
What’s on | A wide range of concerts and events that can be described as classical music, chamber concerts, new music, art music, jazz and funk, early music, performance and choirs. We promote and support a broad variety of music groups and organisations.
Buy tickets to concerts | Buy tickets for a range of musicians, trios, quartets, ensembles and chamber groups. We’ll be on the door to give you your ticket before the concert. These concerts are in the menu on the right.
Reviews | We’ll let you know what concerts and events were like in reviews. They’re not technical and we try to have a range of people write them. If you’d like to write reviews, you can become an Ambassador.

Meet The classikON team
Director: Kate Tribe
Kate’s passion for classical music was fostered by her friendship with her grandfather, Ken Tribe. What he did so well to share his passion was to impart a new piece of information each time they went to a concert together and to encourage gradual knowledge building about one of the things closest to his heart.
When not working with classikON she loves cross stitch making and design and watching cricket.
Marketing Manager: Jacqui Smith
Jacqui is a lover of many musical things, but particularly loves music from about 1200 to the late 1700s and music written yesterday. She has played music ever since hearing the Renaissance Players perform at her primary school and then ended up playing recorders and whistles with them at Sydney University. She freelances as an editor and music promoter by day, but is often seen about town performing or listening to live music.
Administration: Heather Hammond
Heather is an avid music lover of all styles. While a newbie to the classical music scene, when she’s not playing mum or moonlighting as a virtual assistant, she can be seen around Sydney town watching alternative acts and taking in the ambience of the city. She is also fiendish pop culture blogger.
Business Development QLD: Anne Lee-Archer
Music isn’t just an interest, it is a passion for Anne. She has her A.Mus.A and is an Associate of the Yamaha Music Foundation. She was the Marketing and Audience Development Manager at Musica Viva’s International Concert Season for two years and currently works as a online growth strategy consultant for various businesses around Australia, including piano stores, composers and tuners. When she’s not listening to classical music, she’s out swing dancing and enjoying the jazz scene.
