Caroline Henbest and Zoë Black perform with and direct musicians from the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) in a program of celebrated Brahms and dynamic Mozart as part of the Mostly Mozart series.

Beginning with a late work of Brahms’ and arguably one of his most celebrated, String Quintet No.2 exhibits his mastery of Romantic writing paired with motific gesture and technical fugues. Finishing with Mozart’s String Quintet No.3, the piece shows a movement away from the refined balance of Classical aesthetics and foreshadows Beethoven and the Romantic. A dynamic performance that captures the stunning refinement of string works for an exciting and musical morning.
