ANZCA / Introspection & Rare View Victoria Premiere

International award winning Australian virtuoso pianist Nicholas Young performs 7 pieces from acclaimed Melbourne composer Alan Griffiths’ debut album Introspection.
ANZCA Music Examinations chose these 7 pieces for inclusion in their 2018 – 2020 piano syllabus rating them either Grade 8 or Associate Performer Diploma. ANZCA conducts instrumental examinations in 7 countries and is proud sponsor of this concert.
After Intermission ANAM Fellow cellist Gemma Kneale and Melbourne Opera Orchestra concertmaster Ben Spiers will join Young; to perform 5 new chamber works from Griffiths’ second album Rare View.
SONY and Stuart & Sons sponsored the 2018 Rare View world premiere at Beleura House, with Young on the world’s first 9-octave piano. This was also the first concert on the new 108-key 4-pedal Stuart & Sons concert grand piano, the Big Beleura. The live-recorded concert album is a world first utilising SONY’s new C100 Hi-Resolution microphone technology.
Young will play a rare 102-key 4-pedal Stuart piano residing at Tempo Rubato. This will be Griffiths’ fourth premiere on a rare Stuart.
