Australian Chamber Choir | Encores – Geelong
3 November 2024 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm AEDT
$40 – $50During July, the ACC presented nine concerts in Europe. After each performance, the audience applauded loud and long, sometimes rising to their feet to encourage the choir to return for a second or a third encore.
The ACC sang in three international festivals – the Darmstadt International Summer Organ festival (Germany), Ceresio Summer festival (Switzerland) and the Flanders International Summer Organ Festival (Belguim) – and in the cathedrals of Venice, Berlin and Bonn. The fact that most of these were return invitations is testament to the choir’s elevated reputation.
Appearing in Bonn for the seventh time, the ACC’s Basilica concert was reviewed by Fritz Herzog for the General Anzeiger (daily newspaper): “The pandemic forced a break, but now the traditional biennial tours of this top choir have resumed … with a program that wonderfully reflected the breadth of this excellent ensemble”.
The program below includes all the encores from the international tour, plus a few more …
