AVÉ is calling for any choristers and singers (the secret shower singers, too!) who might be interested in joining Katie Noonan and the Australian Vocal Ensemble for a workshop on 1 August at the Proserpine Entertainment Centre. Join AVÉ and Katie for a workshop experience and vocal showcase evening with songs inspired by QLD poets David Malouf and Gwen Harwood. 

AVÉ intertwines Australian compositions by Whitwell, Cawrse, Twist, Kats-Chernin, Stanhope, O’Connor, Leek and more alongside new arrangements of music by Bach, Purcell and Tomás Luis de Victoria, creating a beautiful tension between ties to more traditional European music and modern Australian classical.

Committed to telling uniquely Australian stories, AVÉ presents these new works based on the poetry of iconic QLD poets, David Malouf and Gwen Harwood.

This project marks the second song cycle commissioned by the Australian Vocal Ensemble as they expand their repertoire of new Australian vocal works, generating a new sound world to be discovered and shared.
