DARK: ANTIKYTHERA (WORLD PREMIERE)
FRIDAY 12 AUGUST, 7:30PM, ARID LANDS BOTANIC GARDENS
DARK: ANTIKYTHERA is a nocturnal outdoor musical work composed and performed by Soundstream Collective’s Gabriella Smart and Daniel Pitman that incorporates large scale spatial sound technology and instrument customisations to achieve an immersive and physical audio experience.
Surrounded by a powerful surround system and in complete nocturnal darkness the audience’s attention is directed upwards towards the night sky. The night sky directly influences the foundational score, with performers reacting to the association and predominance of the planets, the movement of satellites and comets, making each performance a unique experience.
