Renowned for championing emerging, mid-career, established and celebrated Australian composers, Flinders Quartet’s 2025 EMERGE concert celebrates the next generation of Australian talent, featuring the world premieres of works by Naomi Dodd, Ben Hoadley, Jessie Leov, and Callum O’Reilly – culminating a year-long process of mentorship and collaboration.

As part of this year’s program, the four participating composers received a special briefing from our partner, the Hush Foundation. With their guidance, the composers have created music that supports patients, practitioners, and families in their healing journeys. Each composer has crafted a 5-6 minute work for string quartet, designed with this ethos of care and connection in mind. FQ is proud to present these premiere performances, continuing its commitment to nurturing emerging voices while harnessing the power of music to make a broader community impact.
