Foundry616 is delighted to welcome back one of Australia’s classiest performers and most talented young piano players and singer-songwriters.
“Frances has a wonderful feeling for jazz and blues standards but what makes her a real stand-out are her original songs and her unique style.” James Morrison AM
If you haven’t been lucky enough to catch her yet, Frances’ music is jazz-oriented but original and with a broad popular appeal. Her shows are a mix of her own enchanting swing, ballads and blues as well as her unique take on some timeless classics.
Frances’ second album of original songs to be released on a major label in Q1 2020 is produced by the ARIA-Award winning Chong Lim AM (John Farnham, Olivia Newton-John, David Campbell).
“More than just the potential to ‘crossover’ and appeal to a broad audience, I believe the original songs on Frances’ new album are so wonderful that her jazz-inspired music can influence the mainstream music scene. She is an amazing talent.” Chong Lim AM
In the past year or two, Frances completed a successful eight-show East Coast tour, as well as performing at festivals including Wangaratta Jazz, Sydney International Women’s Jazz, Manly Jazz, Hobart Festival of Voices and Devonport Jazz. She has played to capacity audiences at Australia’s most popular jazz venues including The Basement and Foundry616 in Sydney, Birds Basement and the Paris Cat in Melbourne, Doo-Bop Jazz Club in Brisbane, as well as the JZ Club in Shanghai. Frances has also supported Dionne Warwick, Gregory Porter and other international artists here in Australia.
Frances captivates her audiences with a combination of her genuinely warm stage presence together with a voice and style that are uniquely her own. In addition to Frances on piano and vocals, the eight-piece line-up for the shows includes some of Australia’s finest jazz musicians including Carl Dewhurst: Guitars; Brett Hirst: Double Bass; Toby Hall: Drums; Ray Cassar: Trumpet & Flugelhorn; Karl Laskowski: Saxophone; and Borbala ‘Bobo’ Bodonyi & Rosalia Lonergan: Backing Vocals.
Doors open at 6.30pm. Show starts at 8.30pm. Book a dinner & show or drinks & show package to secure a seat and table. Be sure to book early as Frances’ shows at Foundry always sell out.
