Hourglass Ensemble: River Songs

18 March @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm AEDT

Meanwhile, in the sparkling rainforest, the stunning “Lyrebird in my Piano” shows us the wizardry of our famous native Australian bird, combining Bartok and Satie, Debussy and Ligeti, or Reich and Takemitsu.

Hourglass premieres Australian commissions – feisty sky dancing in Ball’s “Enemies of Gravity”, nocturnal jazz musings in Lemon’s “Tangent Blues”. A beguiling combination of instruments, rarely heard together, brings you into a sound world of unique combinations and enchanting stories.
