Lunchtime Concert | Schubert: The Poet’s Poet

Schubert used many of the themes from his lieder to inspire his own instrumental music, such as the Trout Quintet and Death and the Maiden String Quartet.
The great pianist Franz Liszt made many arrangements of Schubert’s 600 Lieder, proclaiming that “Schubert was the most poetic musician, who has ever lived.”
