This wonderful duo will take us on a tour of Argentina, featuring the iconic tangos of Gardel and Piazzolla alongside lesser-known styles of Argentinian música folklórica found in the country’s regions: zambas, cuecas, tonadas and more.

Andrew will also be performing solo guitar works from Argentina. The duo will have recently returned from a 25-concert tour of the USA and are excited to perform some of their favourite repertoire on home soil.

Andrew Blanch is a prize-winning guitarist at the forefront of a new wave of classical musicians internationally. He has released three studio albums to critical acclaim – the latest, a collaboration with Queensland Symphony Orchestra principal harpist and Lyrebird Festival Special Guest Emily Granger, has been streamed more than a million times. Andrew tours regularly with Mendoza-born Maria Eugenia Nieva, his playing and life partner, who brings a profound understanding of Argentina’s repertoire and diverse musical styles.

The concert will run for approximately 70 minutes without interval.
