Newcastle Music Festival 2019 | You, Me & The Wide Open Sky

‘You, Me and the Wide Open Sky’ will be a concert featuring Australian choral composers who have found a descriptive style which reflects our vast continent. Showcasing works by well known Australian composers such as Iain Grandage, Dan Walker & Michael Atherton with an arrangement of ‘Waltzing Matilda’ by Ruth McCall. In addition, the choir will be thrilled to present a new commission by celebrated composer Elena Kats-Chernin. Our special guest will be flautist Sally Walker.

Newcastle University Choir presents a concert of Australian works celebrating the wide open spaces of our beautiful country. Works to be performed include by Grandidge, McCall, Walker and others and featuring the premiere of our commissioned work ‘Magic Voices’ by Elena Kats-Chernin.
