Please join us in celebrating 20 years of Musicus Medicus with ‘Celebration!’, our 2023 Annual Fundraising Concert at the Concourse Concert Hall in Chatswood. Conducted by Dr Joanna Drimatis, this concert will feature the World Premiere of ‘Celebration’ composed by Dr David Banney, alongside Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto, played by guest soloist Oliver Shermacher. The proceeds of our 2023 concert will go to supporting the Street Side Medics and funding the annual NSW Doctors’ Orchestra Sydney Eisteddfod Instrumental Scholarship.
Musicus Medicus, the NSW Doctors’ Orchestra, is a classical orchestra of doctors and medical students from all areas of NSW who come together at least annually to play in aid of charities in both the arts and medicine. Founded in 2020 by Dr Daniel Nour, Young Australian of the Year in 2022, Street Side Medics strives to alleviate the burdens faced by the homeless community of NSW in accessing primary healthcare. The NSW Drs Orchestra Sydney Eisteddfod Instrumental Scholarship is awarded to a young instrumentalist (16-25 years) in strings, woodwind or brass. Musicus Medicus is a registered charity organization, run by volunteers.
