River City Voices: Carmina Burana
5 May 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 7:45 pm AESTFree – $45
Join us for River City Voices’ inaugural performance of Carl Orff’s popular blockbuster, Carmina Burana!
What’s not to love about hearing 100 voices sing the spine-tingling opening chorus “O Fortuna” in all its dramatic glory!
Established in 2018, River City Voices is Parramatta’s new symphony choir that seeks to give local audiences access to large-scale choral experiences closer to home! This exciting performance under the baton of renowned conductor Dr Sarah Penicka-Smith, represents the culmination of a fun and inspiring “Come & Sing” weekend rehearsal workshop where River City Voices singers combine forces with over 50 passionate community singers and the OLMC Senior Chorale.
Carmina Burana features acclaimed soloists, Turkish-Australian soprano Ayşe Göknur Shanal, baritone Simon Lobelson (Opera Australia) and much-loved tenor Warren Fisher accompanied by a thrilling percussion ensemble. This is history in the making and River City Voices welcome you on their journey!
If you would like to support River City Voices’ current Australian Cultural Fund campaign, you can do so here. The campaign is also supported by Creative Partnerships Australia’s Plus1 program, so every dollar donated will be doubled!
