It’s not every day that one of the world’s leading performers on violin comes to the Mitchell Shire in central Victoria, but that is exactly what is happening. Lucinda Moon will perform just out of Broadford at the studio of the well-known harpsichordist Peter Hagen. The programme includes music by Couperin, Dornel, Duphly and Leclair.
These early eighteenth century French composers are well known today amongst baroque music aficionados for their beautiful elegant music. And if you like music to get your senses racing there is a fair share of impressive fiery rapid music too.
Lucinda Moon plays baroque violin, a violin that uses real gut strings as they used to do over 200 years ago. In addition to her position as Principal Violinist with the Elysium Ensemble, she has recorded and performed with many Australian groups including being Concertmaster of the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra 1995-2008.
This is the 7th successful year of the series of “Salon Concerts at Broadford” brought to this shire by the efforts of the celebrated harpsichordist Peter Hagen who is passionate about bringing first class musicians to this shire and other regional areas. Audiences have enjoyed four concerts every year of first class classical chamber music in his fine home with its collection of old keyboard instruments. Set in a beautiful secluded bush setting in Three Chain Road Broadford, it is conveniently local.
For more details about the other three concerts later this year please see the booking website. If you book before 26 April you will receive an automatic discount if you book online.
