Selby & Friends: The Game Changers
8 September @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm AEST
Tickets: Adult $69 | Senior $67 | Concession $51
Showcasing four revolutionary composers who changed the direction of western classical music, this program follows the stirring Nationalist sounds of Dvořák to Ravel’s jazz and blues-inspired rhythms of Parisian cafes of the 1920s. Selby & Friends then travel into the 1960s with the dramatic modern sounds of Benjamin Britten and get a taste for one of Australia’s greats, Elena Kats-Chernin with Blue Silence for piano trio devoted to artists suffering schizophrenia.
Joining Artistic Director/Pianist Kathryn Selby is First Associate Concertmaster of the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra, Susie Park and cellist of the Goldner String Quartet, Julian Smiles. Together these three artists will bring to life the music of these Game Changers.
