The Sydney Bach Society in association with Christ Church St Laurence is delighted to present 3 Thursday lunch-time concerts as part of its inaugural ‘All Bach Series’.
We welcome old and new lovers of J.S. Bach’s music to these casual, bite sized events. The 40 minute concerts will showcase an impressive array of local and international talent in the beautiful surrounds of Christ Church St Laurence – a historical church in the beating heart of Sydney’s George Street.
Join us as we celebrate Bach’s 333rd birthday!

April 12: Bach & the Guitar
Featuring the Brazilian classical guitarist Josinaldo Costa in a monumental solo program of J.S. Bach’s Suite for Lute in C Minor (BWV 1005) & Sonata for Violin in C Major (BW V997).
May 10: Thorough Bass
Starring Pippa Macmillan (Professor of Baroque Double Bass at the Royal College of Music and Guest Principal of the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra) and Anthony Albrecht (cello), this concert will feature music voiced for the lower end of the string spectrum. Program details to be released very soon!
June 7: The Art of the Cello
We welcome Chris Pidcock (cello) and James Doig (chamber organ) from the Sydney Symphony Orchestra for a three sumptuous all-Bach works including the beloved Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major (BWV 1007).
