Selby & Friends takes listeners on a musical journey with three great Nationalists in this program of diverse piano trios. Fine storytellers all, these three composers – Dvořák, Ravel and Australian Elena Kats-Chernin – invite us to immerse ourselves in the culture of their beloved homelands by introducing us to a private folkloric language which is revolutionary and unique. Pianist Kathryn Selby and iconic Australian cellist Julian Smiles are joined for this spectacular program by the brilliant Australian violinist Natalie Chee on her return visit from Europe. We invite you to step inside the special world of tall tales and fantasy with this special winter program.
