It was interesting to see, in the new Arts Policy announcement that Creative Partnerships Australia would get funding to develop, among other things, crowd funding programs. Whether the ATO will permit tax deductibility of any future program remains to be seen. There would appear to be scope for a model with optional rewards to address the ATO’s usual concerns. If a $2 gift via the Australia Cultural Fund is tax deductible, then it would be easy to imagine an ACF based crowd funding model which would have the same result. But don’t hold your breath.

Donations to a Pozible campaign can be tax deductible, but only where the recipient has DGR status, and presumably where the “no reward” option is selected. Most Pozible projects of course fall outside these criteria.
