The SCM Chinese Music Ensemble gives students from both music and non-music degrees the opportunity to study traditional Chinese instruments, including the dizi (transverse bamboo flute), zhongruan and pipa (different types of fretted lutes), erhu (two-string fiddle), guzheng (zither) and yangqin (hammered dulcimer). Under the tutelage of expert performers, students learn their chosen instrument, participate in ensemble rehearsals, and give concerts throughout the year.
