Opera Australia should be dreadfully ashamed at their attitude AGAINST our beautiful home grown talent. I have seen so many of their international so called “stars” in productions over the past few years and they are overweight (not tolerated when choosing Australian singers), and very poor vocally indeed. why not ask the audience? because the executive force aren’t interested in Australians of any kind – singer or audience. They want our money, our backsides in the seats but not our beloved singers. How do they think Europeans train? its by being given endless opportunity to perform in their home countries. Our loyal and hard working singers have to take whatever crumbs they’re offered. A company not interested in the singers of their own country? DISGUSTING. Who cares? well….. I DO!
