Long live The King (of Instruments) – as the great Mozart called the pipe organ!

And then Beethoven famously said that “Organists are the greatest of all virtuosos”!

The recently completed Grand Organ in St Paul’s Cathedral, Bendigo has been over 140 years in the making.

Thomas Heywood will put this magnificent instrument through its paces in this showstopper program, from Elgar’s Land of Hope and Glory to Offenbach’s Orpheus in the Underworld – with a movement from Dvorak’s New World Symphony along the way – and much more, marking a wonderful newly-completed instrument in Bendigo’s and Australia’s, rich heritage of pipe organs.

Keys of Gold is back in 2026!

Following a spectacular debut in 2025, Keys of Gold returns for its second year, once again celebrating Bendigo’s remarkable collection of instruments and venues. Presented by Bendigo Fine Music, the festival will unfold across twelve stunning spaces, featuring thirty-two incredible instruments and one hundred and seventy-five world-class performers.

Across four weekends in July, audiences will be treated to sixteen unforgettable concerts that bring to life the beauty, history and artistry of Bendigo’s musical heritage. From historic churches to intimate settings, every performance promises a rich and immersive experience.
