Album launch December 14, 2022, online
After a series of exciting single releases this year, Byron Mark is ready to share the last chapter of ‘Odyssey’ and launch the full album online on December 14, 2022. His recent release ‘Blossom’, along with ‘Omens’, featured on the AppleMusic ‘New Music Daily’ playlist and has received lots of positive feedback on his music to date.
‘Byroven’, a modern adaptation and extension of a Beethoven musical phrase was also a popular favourite amongst fans, and his music video for debut single ‘Burbujas’ won the Silver Award in the 2022 Global Music Awards.
‘Odyssey’ is a cross-cultural collaboration of instruments and genres; merging piano and a traditional string quartet with world percussion, featuring the cajon, tabla, and flamenco dance. After many tours and performances with flamenco ensembles around Australia,
Byron has developed a strong passion for flamenco rhythms. He uses this knowledge to craft unique compositions inspired by flamenco palos, coloured with Latin and Jazz rhythms/harmonies, whilst staying true to his classical piano roots. This is the sound of ‘Odyssey’.
Byron performed a special showcase of the album earlier this year to a sold out audience at the Tom Mann Theatre, where “performers played with an infectious exuberance” (ClassikON). He is also excited to present the concert again in 2023 on 1 April at the Palais Royale Ballroom in Katoomba as part of the Equinox Festival. More information HERE.
At a young age, Byron began his music journey with the study of classical piano. From there he ventured on to learn drums, saxophone and a plethora of percussion and now incorporates piano and percussion with many flamenco ensembles and vocalists around Australia. Byron is excited to announce this final stage of the project and keen to share the last few tracks with everyone in this final online release.
