Louis Wishart

Louis Wishart is a Sydney-based Composer and Musician who synthesises free-improvisation aesthetics with an intimacy with sound, resonance, and organic processes. Louis has had his music performed internationally by AURA ensemble (US), Ensemble Garage (GER) and Ostravska Banda (CZE). Most recently, Louis participated in Ensemble Offspring's "Hatched Academy" culminating in the premiere of a new chamber work, and is also set to embark on a short residency with the Patsiaouras Ensemble in Cyprus in March. Louis is the founder and artistic director of the new music ensemble "Scalp", which debuted in January and July 2025, premiering a new work by Louis, as well as his arrangement of the punk operetta 'John Gavanti', and is slated to return in April 2026.
